Part 1 of The History of the Standard Model

I’m giving a Lectures on Tap in the Lower East Side on September 2nd, 2026 about the history of the Standard Model of Particle Physics. I’m really excited for it, it’s an extremely interesting topic and one that I find not a lot of people outside the field know about.

As I’ve been doing research for the talk, I’ve been realizing that the timeline is so rich that I want the explore it deeper, and thought this would be a fun first project for a blog. There’s just too much to cover in 45 minutes! As such, I’ll be following the timeline I made for my talk, but in a much more in-depth fashion where I try to delve deep into the physics.
